The rental price does not include:
* Tank of fuel (the car must be return with the same amount of fuel that it had when it was delivered and no refunds will be made for unused fuel)
* Baby seats and boosters 12,00€ per rental.
* Additional drivers 18,00€ per rental.
* Arrivals at airport out of hours (from 23,00 to 07,00 hrs): 30€ per delivery
* Traffic fines, tow trucks, damages to glass, wheels, underbody, clutch (due to misuse), lost or broken keys, error of fuel and costs involved, (you can acquire an additional insurance at € 15 per rental contract in order to cover the damages caused to glass and wheels).
Negligences.
* Optional insurance covering damages caused to glass, wheels and clutch: Euro 3,00 per day, with a minimum of Euro 9,00 and a maximum of Euro 36,00 per rental contract of maximum 30 days rental period (renewable).
* If you don't contract these insurance, you will have to leave a credit card deposit between 300Euro and 700Euro (in some models), which will be returned at the end of the rental.
Requirements:
When you pick up the vehicle, driver must present a valid credit card for guarantee.
The driver has to be 21 years minimum and he must hold a driving licence since one year, at least.
* Vehicles only may be driven on the Spanish mainland, into Gibraltar and Portugal and must be returned to one of our offices.
* We allow a 2-hour grace period when returning your car, after that period we will charge One day extra.
Lanzarote Airport history
In the mid 1940s, the Air Force approved the construction of an aerodrome on Lanzarote, as part of a defence plan for the Canary Islands. The aerodrome was located five kilometres west of Arrecife, within the municipality of San Bartolomé.
In 1946, Lanzarote Airport was provisionally opened to civil traffic, for which purpose part of the building that housed the military annexes was used. A year later, it was officially opened to domestic air traffic.
The constant increase in passenger traffic led to a further extension and improvement of the airport. The works included the installation of a DME associated with the VOR, a VASIS at the departure points 04/22, new runway lighting to substitute the temporary lighting, the extension of the aircraft apron, rapid exit path, and the extension of the passenger terminal. An additional extension was made in 1988 to increase operating capacity, a taxiway was constructed, parallel to the runway.
They inagurated the new passenger terminal building was in 1969 also the extension of the runway, a transmission centre, technical block and general planning. After the work, the airport remained classified as second category and, finally, on 3 March 1970, it was opened to civil national and international passenger air traffic.
