La Graciosa Description

La Graciosa is probably one of the few places in Europe where there are still no tarmac roads. It is the most unknown and the one that lavishes most serenity of the entire Canarian Archipielago. Although the origin of the name is unknown it might be due to the fascinating colours of its beaches and volcanic mountains and how these change from dawn to dusk, painting different landscapes that evolutes from different tones of red to yellow through the entire spectre of browns and ochre. Who ever seeks a place that is different will be thrilled by this charming and perfectly suited island.

La Graciosa is a flat island, where four very different volcanic unities stand out, the one called Las Agujas with its 266 meters being the highest.

The island has two populated kernels that started upon the hope of building a better life than the one that was left behind. Both villages look towards Lanzarote and both encountered in this sea the splendorous fortune they were seeking.
